Summit Entertainment announced that Terminator Salvation babe Bryce Dallas Howard will be taking the role of the Bella-hating vampire Victoria in third Twilight sequel, Eclipse, who replacing Rachel Lefevre, who played a role in the first film and the upcoming New Moon.

The official statement on Rachel Lefevre leaving the Eclipse filming is a "confict of schedules," even if you have to wonder what it is to convince her to abandon one of the greatest films that give her enough leverage.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will start filming in Vancouver, Canada, in August.

Eclipse is based on the third book in Stephenie Meyer's hit book series and will be directed by David Slade from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. The film will be released June 30, 2010.

We are sure Bryce Dallas Howard can pull off the role of the antagonist Victoria in Eclipse, and the fact that she has a higher profile, like Dakota Fanning. Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character.
